Our Program Team partners with local organizations to support initiatives and programs that actively improve the welfare of the residents of Berks County. Our years of experience give us the resources to join forces and make change happen.
Our Areas of Focus
Although we manage funds for many different causes in Berks County, we focus our undesignated
grantmaking and resources on the following community initiatives.
They are also experts on Berks County. They continuously study local, regional, national, and even international trends to be sure the initiatives we manage have the best shot at improving the quality of life right here.

A Brighter Energy Future
We work in partnership with the Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund to improve energy efficiency and support green energy projects and education across a broad swath of Pennsylvania.

By supporting programs that help women and girls enter the workforce or get the education they need to do so, this program seeks to empower women and end generational poverty.

A program of VOiCEup Berks and the Youth Fund
Each year, 40 local high school students study the issues their peers face, volunteer their time to address them, and undertake a process to award $15,000 in grants aimed at making an impact.

A program to catalog purpose-built church buildings in Berks County
With the help of Partners for Sacred Places in Philadelphia and a cadre of interns, this program is inventorying the existing church buildings in Berks County, with an eye toward preserving historically significant properties.

The Community General Hospital Healthcare Fund of Berks County Community Foundation supports the provision of staff to work in identified rural libraries in the Bernville, Boyertown, Hamburg, and Morgantown areas.
