ANIMALS

The Help the Animals Fund
This fund supports the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.

Friends of the Reading K9 Unit Fund
This fund was established to train and maintain a K9 Unit for police in the City of Reading.

The Rene G. Hill Memorial Fund
This fund supports equine education for Berks County residents.

The Humane Society of Berks County Fund
This fund supports the Humane Society of Berks County.

The Lutz Family Memorial Fund
This fund provides grants for the Salvation Army, Reading Corps., the Berks County Association for the Blind, and the Humane Society of Berks County. This fund was established in memory of Bill Lutz and his son, Rob Lutz.

The Pets in Need Fund
This fund provides veterinary care to animals in life-threatening situations.

Earl and Helen Poole Memorial Fund
TThis fund supports Baird Ornithological Club, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, and the Reading Public Museum

BOYERTOWN AREA

The Bally House Fund
This fund was established in honor of Samuel D. & Leona E. Gensemer for Bally House, a special-needs home in Barto. Grants pay for care not covered by insurance or medical assistance and for communal property or residential improvements that benefit the majority of the home's residents.

The Boyertown Area Charitable Giving Program
The Boyertown Area Charitable Giving Program distributes grants from the Boyertown Area Community Fund and the Boyer Foundation Fund. The Boyer Foundation Fund was established to support Boyertown area health, social, recreational and safety organizations. The fund is in memory of the late Daniel and Blanche Boyer, who were lifelong Boyertown residents and community leaders. The Boyertown Area Community Fund was established to support charitable programs within the geographic area served by the Boyertown Area School District.

The Boyertown Area YMCA Endowment Fund
This fund will make an annual grant to the Boyertown Area YMCA.

The Building a Better Boyertown Endowment Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to support Building a Better Boyertown.

The Boyertown Community Center Fund
This fund was established with a bequest from the estates of Paul and Erminie Hafer, long-time Boyertown residents who were instrumental in the establishment and continuation of the Boyertown Community Center, Inc. The fund makes an annual grant to support the organization.

The Margaret B. Moeller Fund for Alzheimer's Home Care Companions
This fund makes grants to Boyertown-area families in need of respite care while caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease. Click here to complete an online application for this fund.

The Friends of Sandra J. Massaro Memorial Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to the J.K. Boyer Boyertown Community Library. It is named in memory of Sandra J. Massaro, who was an employee at National Penn Bank and an avid reader.

National Penn Bank Field of Interest Fund
This fund supports local affiliates of the United Way of America and capital campaigns in National Penn Bank's trading area, as it existed prior to November 30, 1990.

Prevention of Child Abuse/Americanism Fund
This fund was established to benefit Victim Services Center of Montgomery County for its "Keeping Touches Healthy and Safe" program, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania Boyertown Service Unit, and the Hawk Mountain Council for Boy Scouts, Boyertown area. In the event these organizations cease to exist, grants from the fund will be made to organizations whose patriotic projects promote pride for our country, respect for the American flag, and create the spirit of American ideals in the Boyertown area.

The Rocco J. Cotellese, Jr. Fund
Named in memory of Rocco J. Cotellese, a Gilbertsville resident, to provide support to the YMCA of Boyertown.

John Czerniak Memorial Fund
This fund, which buys books for the J.K. Boyer Community Library, was named in memory of a former Boyertown student who loved to read.

The Mae B. Kreamer Fund
This fund supports the YMCA of Pottstown and Upper Perkiomen Valley.

The Boyertown Tree Fund
This fund makes grants to plant and maintain trees in the Borough of Boyertown, PA.


Jess's Sunshine Fund
This fund provides financial assistance to families of children who are residents of the Boyertown Area School District with special needs, specifically those who are suffering from a long-term catastrophic illness or injury. Click here to complete an online application.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

Howard O. and Jean S. Beaver Undesignated Fund
The Beavers established this fund to further or carry out the charitable, cultural, education and scientific purposes of the Community Foundation.

Ben Franklin Trust Fund
In 1789, Benjamin Franklin established the Ben Franklin Trust with a bequest of 1,000 pounds sterling and directed that the trust be terminated in 200 years and the proceeds distributed to benefit the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1993, the Commonwealth used its portion to establish the Ben Franklin Trust Funds in community foundations across the state.

Berks Business Executive Forum
This fund was established to provide operating support for the Berks Business Executive Forum.

The Bills Khakis Fund
This fund was established by Reading-based Bills Khakis to further activities that combat community deterioration, lessen neighborhood tensions and lessen the burdens of government in the City of Reading by promoting entrepreneurship as a means of improving the quality of life in the City of Reading and fostering opportunity and training for the traditionally disenfranchised.

The City Inauguration Fund
This fund offset the costs for the January 5, 2004, inauguration of the new members of city council and mayor of the City of Reading. The fund relieved the taxpayers of Reading of this burden.

The Community Indicators Project Fund
This fund accepts contributions to support the Community Indicators Project, which is administered by Berks County Community Foundation.

Friends of the Reading K9 Unit Fund
This fund was established to train and maintain a K9 Unit for police in the City of Reading.

The Fund for Berks County
The Fund for Berks County is the Community Foundationís core Undesignated Fund and one of the main sources for undesignated grantmaking.

The Alfred G. Hemmerich Memorial Fund
In 1999, the Community Foundation's Board of Directors established the Alfred G. Hemmerich Memorial Fund in honor of the Community Foundation's founder and first chairman, Alfred G. Hemmerich.

The Russell L. Hiller Charitable Trust
Berks County Judge Russell L. Hiller established this fund by bequest to provide support to the Shillington Borough Council to finance improvements to its recreational park and pool; to support the Mifflin Community Library; to provide support for the President's Council of Albright College, and to provide for charitable programs in the Governor Mifflin School District. The Hillside Playground Fund
This fund offset the cost for holiday decorations and festivities for the Hillside Playground in Reading.

The Initiative for a Competitive Greater Reading Fund
This fund was established to pay for the research and planning efforts of the Initiative for a Competitive Greater Reading group as it positions Reading to more effectively compete in attracting and retaining meaningful jobs for Berks County residents.

Kline Family Undesignated Fund
The Kline Family established this fund to further or carry out the charitable, cultural, education and scientific purposes of the Community Foundation.

The Knights of Friendship Fund
This fund makes an annual award to an organization that has worked to improve the quality of life for residents of the Borough of Mohnton.

The Mohnton Anniversary Fund
This fund makes grants to support special events and activities for the borough's significant anniversary celebrations.

Gustav Oberlaender Fund
Industrial magnate Gustav Oberlaender established a private foundation in 1935. The foundation's assets were transferred to the Community Foundation in 1996.

The Hawley and Myrtle Quier Fund
This fund makes distributions to improve the quality of life for the residents of Berks County, with particular emphasis on the arts, education, women's issues, children's issues and animal welfare.

Reading Revitalization Fund
This fund supports public and private partnerships designed to ensure a clean, safe, vital City of Reading.

The Reading Tricentennial Fund
This fund provides the start-up capital for the City of Reading's 300th Anniversary Celebration in 2048.

The Riverplace Catalyst Fund
This fund was established to provide support for the ongoing operational expenses of the Riverfront Improvement Project.

Riverfront Planning Fund
This fund offsets the cost of planning a redeveloped riverfront in Reading.

The Thun Award Fund
This fund supports a charitable organization suggested by the recipient of the Thun Award. The annual honoree is a Berks County resident who makes significant contributions to civic and community service, and exhibits an enduring sense of commitment to the community.

Gerber D. Schafer Fund
Gerber D. Schafer established this fund at the time of his death to be used for charitable purposes.

Lawrence R. Pugh/VF Corporation Fund
This fund was established tocontinue the giving tradition of VF Corporation after the firm relocated its headquarters to another state.

The Berks Counseling Center, Inc. Fund
This fund was established to provide general support for Berks Counseling Center, Inc.

The Berks County District Attorneys Anti-Drug Fund
This fund was established to support the provisions of The Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within the counties of Philadelphia and Berks.

The Beacon House Fund
This fund was established to provide general support for Beacon House operating expenses and programs.

The Friends of the Drug Treatment Court Fund
This fund provides financial assistance for participants of the Berks County Drug and Mental Health Treatment Court.

Sherry's Rainbow Fund
This fund was established to support organizations that promote youth drug, alcohol or violence prevention activities.

The Ira M. Becker Fund for Poor Young Men
This fund was created in the early 1900s to "educate poor young men, one at a time, or give them a trade as money permits, but not to be given to any institutions."

The BERCS Fund
This fund was established by the Berks County Intermediate Unit to help reduce costs for school districts in the county.

The Exeter Community Education Foundation Fund
This fund was established to make distributions to the Exeter Community Education Foundation.

The Hamburg Area Education Foundation Fund
This fund makes annual grants to support the Hamburg Area Education Foundation.

The IDEA Fund
This fund makes annual grants to supplement the educational needs of Wilson School District residents who are special education students. Click here to download an application for this fund.

Patrick D. O'Pake Fund
This fund provides scholarships for deserving students at St. Margaret's Roman Catholic School and support projects benefiting children in the Glenside area.

Public Education Foundation Fund for Instructional Innovation
This fund supports innovative teaching programs in public elementary and secondary schools in Berks County.

The Mary Kolakowski Fund for St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic School
This fund provides support to St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic School for projects, scholarships, or for purposes that the principal believes benefits students.

The Kurr Foundation Pass-Through Fund
This fund contributes to a reading and communication program in the Tulpehocken Area School District.

Tulpehocken Area High School Art Curriculum Fund
This fund makes grants to provide educational opportunities for students enrolled in the art curriculum in the Tulpehocken Area School District.

Twin Valley Community Education Foundation Fund
This fund benefits the Twin Valley Community Education Foundation, an association that helps local residents, primarily students, within the geographical boundaries of the Twin Valley School District.

Wyomissing Area Education Foundation Endowment Fund
This fund supports the Wyomissing Area Education Foundation.

The Zock Foundation Designated Fund of Tulpehocken Area School District
This fund pays for projects and purposes that benefit students attending Tulpehocken Area High School. The fund was established by Mrs. Sara (Kurr) Zock, a native of Bethel Township and generous benefactor of the Tulpehocken School District for many years.

The Bellman Fund for Berks County Conservancy
The Bellman Fund was created to provide grants for ongoing maintenance and improvements to the "Brownsville Road" property in Lower Heidelberg Township, which is owned by the Berks County Conservancy.

The Conservation Equity Funds
The Conservation Equity Funds support the preservation and/or conservation of open space, environmentally sensitive land and historic properties in Berks County, including, but not limited to, farmland.

Fund for Farmland Preservation
This fund was established in conjunction with the Berks County Conservancy to ensure the preservation of farmland and open space within Berks County.

Metropolitan Edison Sustainable Energy Fund
This fund was established to promote the development and use of renewable energy and clean energy technologies; energy conservation and efficiency; sustainable energy businesses, and projects that improve the environment in the areas served by the company's transmission and distribution facilities. The fund distributes both grants and loans within defined guidelines.

The Roberts Family Fund for Stream and Wildlife Preservation
This fund was established in memory of Willard and Ruth Roberts, who were Berks County residents for more than 50 years. The fund provides loans for the preservation and conservation of streams and wetlands in Berks County.

The William Penn Foundation Fund
In 2004, the William Penn Foundation in Philadelphia made a grant to Berks County Community Foundation to conduct a study of agricultural sustainability in Berks and Schuylkill counties. The results of that study were published in November 2005.

This fund provides operating support for the Greater Berks Food Bank.


HEALTHCARE

The Berks Counseling Center, Inc. Fund
This fund provides annual support for Berks Counseling Center, Inc.

The Christopher Fund
This fund provides grants to organizations for education, research or the prevention of neuro-muscular diseases.

The Community General Hospital Healthcare Fund
This fund was established by the Community General Hospital Foundation to support a nonprofit hospital in Reading, educational activities related to rendering care to the sick and injured or to the promotion of health; scientific research related to the care of the sick in conjunction with a hospital operating in the City of Reading; and to promote the general health of the Berks County community.

The Brynn Lee Feather Fund
Grants from the Brynn Lee Feather Fund will benefit the Reading Hospital Regional Cancer Center and local diabetes organizations, including Camp Setebaid, a camp for children with diabetes located near Berwick, PA.

Lauren Fitzgerald Memorial Fund for Brain Tumor Research
This fund was established in memory of Lauren Fitzgerald, a 2003 graduate of Wyomissing High School who died at age 20 from an aggressive brain tumor. The fund makes an annual grant for research to the American Brain Tumor Association.

The Camella Maggs Client Memorial Fund
In honor of their clients, Lyn Camella and Mark Maggs established this fund to make grants that help Berks County children with physical or learning disabilities discover their strengths and reach their full potential with dignity.

The Carpe Diem Fund
The Carpe Diem Fund enhances the lives of adults with any life-threatening medical condition by providing adventures and experiences that enrich their lives. Grants are given for adventures and experiences such as meeting someone you've always admired, doing something exciting or adventurous, or "being someone" for a day. The Dental Treatment Fund
This fund was established by the Berks Schuylkill Dental Hygienists Association to provide dental treatment to Berks or Schuylkill County residents who would otherwise be unable to pay for such treatment.

The John Gurski Fund
This fund was established to support the Berks Branch Office of the Alzheimer's Association.

The Help of the Angels Fund
Hair on the Avenue established this fund to make grants to organizations that help people who suffer from an illness or abuse that affects their self-image. In addition, the fund will make an annual grant to Rotary International.

The Bill & Anna Kauffman Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to the Salvation Army - Reading Corps and the American Cancer Society - Berks County Chapter.

The Lutz Family Memorial Fund
This fund provides grants for the Salvation Army, Reading Corps., the Berks County Association for the Blind, and the Humane Society of Berks County. This fund was established in memory of Bill Lutz and his son, Rob Lutz.

The Margaret B. Moeller Fund for Alzheimer's Home Care Companions

The Promise Fund
This fund provides financial assistance to individuals with cancer for uninsured expenses.

The Ralph H. and Florence Moyer Fund
This fund provides grants for the study and cure of diabetes, cancer and heart disease, and awards scholarships for post-secondary study or vocational training to a Berks County youth who has demonstrated need and potential.

Save-A-Life Fund
The Save-A-Life Fund distributes grants for Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) for first response vehicles and public facilities in Berks County.

Jess's Sunshine Fund

Arthur O. and Clara M. Schlegel Memorial Fund for Deformed Children of Berks County
This fund defrays medical costs of treating and correcting physical deformities in children residing in Berks County who are either without parents or whose parents are financially unable to meet such expenses.

The Robert Welliver Memorial Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to provide assistance for two or more campers to attend the Beacon Lodge Camp and to assist in the repair and maintenance of the camp's grounds. The camperships are intended for blind individuals who recently lost their eyesight or who recently encountered a significant life change.

Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation
This fund was established by Carrie Knabb to provide general support for the Berks County Association for Graveyard Preservation.

Berks County Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Fund for Education, Historic Preservation and Patriotic Services
This fund provides awards to Berks County students who win a contest created by the DAR and to outstanding Berks County citizens who exemplify the DAR's dedication to education, historic preservation and patriotic service.

Julia S. Buckman Lock House Volunteer Award
This fund provides an annual award to a volunteer who makes significant contributions to the preservation of the Leesport Lock House.

Friends of the Park Fund
This fund provides support for the property and programs under the domain of the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department.

Governor's Residence Preservation Fund
This fund provides grants for the preservation and maintenance of the Governor's Residence in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania German Program Fund for Berks Community Television
This fund was established by the Rentschler/Labe family to make grants to Berks Community Television to support the development and production of one or more programs devoted to Pennsylvania German culture, language and heritage.

Berks Family Shelter Advocacy Project Fund
This fund makes grants to the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society of Philadelphia for immigration and naturalization services performed at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Family Shelter.

The Muhlenberg Community Library Fund
This fund was established to provide support for the Muhlenberg Community Library.

The Russell L. Hiller Charitable Trust
Berks County Judge Russell L. Hiller established this fund by bequest to provide support to the Shillington Borough Council to finance improvements to its recreational park and pool; to support the Shillington Borough Library; to provide support for the President's Council of Albright College, and to provide scholarships for Governor Mifflin High School seniors.

MEMORIAL FUNDS
Memorial Funds are established to collect charitable contributions when someone has passed away. The family decides at a later date how grants from the fund will be made. The following Memorial Funds are now accepting donations:

The John H. Bertolet Memorial Fund
Mr. Bertolet's family established this fund to collect donations in his name to be used for charitable purposes in his memory.

The Jesse K. Cataldi Memorial Fund
Jesse Cataldi's family established this fund to collect donations in his name to be used for charitable purposes in his memory.

The Ryan Cozzone Memorial Fund
Ryan Cozzone's family established this fund to collect donations in Ryan's name to be used for a charitable purpose in his memory.

The Troy M. DeNunzio, Jr. Memorial Fund
The family of Troy M. DeNunzio, Jr., who perished in June 2007 as a result of an automobile accident on Route 422 near Reading, has established a memorial fund to accept contributions in his memory.

The Erin Delia Moore Memorial Fund
Erin Delia Moore's family established this fund to collect donations in Erin's name to be used for a charitable purpose in her memory.

The Danny Ellis Memorial Fund
Danny Ellis's family established this fund to collect donations in his name to be used for charitable purposes in his memory.


The Matthew Kelly Epitome of Courage Memorial Fund
Matthew Kelly's family established this fund to collect donations in Matthew's name to be used for a charitable purpose in his memory.

The Byron F. "Corky" Knoll Memorial Fund
Byron F. "Corky" Knoll's family established this fund to collect donations in Corky's name to be used for a charitable purpose in his memory.

The Jeffrey L. Lorah Memorial Fund
Jeffrey L. Lorah's family established this fund to collect donations in Jeffrey's name to be used for a charitable purpose in his memory.

The Samuel S. Sehl Memorial Fund
Samuel Sehl's family established this fund to collect donations in his name to be used for charitable purposes in his memory.

The William A. Smith, III Charitable Fund
This fund was established in loving memory of William A. Smith, III, by his devoted wife, Mary Ann Chelius Smith.

Krista Staudt Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund was established to collect donations in memory of Krista Staudt to be used for charitable purposes.

The Cynthia Cameron Thun Memorial Fund
Mrs. Thun's family established this fund to collect donations in her name to be used for charitable purposes in her memory.

The Travis Zimmerman Memorial Fund
This fund was established in memory of Travis Zimmerman, a Boyertown-area soldier who was killed in Iraq in 2006.


MUSIC & THE ARTS

Emily's Musical Instrument Fund
Emily's Musical Instrument Fund buys musical instruments for financially needy fourth-grade students at Richmond Elementary School in the Fleetwood Area School District. This fund was created in memory of Emily Katzaman, who was a fourth-grade student at the school at the time of her unexpected death in November 2001.

Berks Classical Children's Chorus Fund
This fund provides ongoing support for the Berks Classical Children's Chorus.

Jeannette M. Eways Scholarship Fund for the Community School of Music and the Arts
This fund supports students who will attend classes at the Community School of Music and the Arts. It is named in memory of Jeannette M. Eways, a dedicated teacher and patron of the school.

Levi W. Mengel Memorial Fund
This fund provides for the acquisition and maintenance of materials for the Reading Public Museum.

Earl and Helen Poole Memorial Fund
This fund supports the Baird Ornithological Club, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, and the Reading Public Museum.

Reading Symphony Orchestra Fund
This fund provides ongoing support for the Reading Symphony Orchestra.

Reading Symphony Orchestra Master Class Fund
This fund provides ongoing support for the Reading Symphony Orchestra Master Class program, which is paid for through contributions from businesses as part of Pennsylvania's educational improvement tax credit program.

Support Performing Artists Fund
This fund makes grants to encourage and nurture performing artists.


The Woman's Club of Reading Center for the Arts Fund
This fund was established to pay for the repair and improvement cost for the Woman's Club of Reading Center for the Arts.

The Bradbury Family Memorial Fund
This fund makes an annual contribution to St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church.

The Jeanne M. Chaney Memorial Book Award
This fund makes scholarships for books and computers to graduating seniors who are members of Atonement Lutheran Church.

David Cohn Memorial Fund for Kesher Zion
This fund provides grants to Kesher Zion Synagogue Center of Reading, PA.

Martha W. Lewis Fund for St. John's United Church of Christ
This fund supports the general expenses of St. John's United Church of Christ in Gibraltar, PA.

The Mensch Mill Growth Fund
This fund supports Mensch Mill, a conference center for the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. Mensch Mill is located in Huffs Church. The fund will help offset the costs of Mensch Mill's environmental programs, camping programs and preservation and restoration needs.

Betty and Ray Seaman Endowment Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to St. Michael's Church in Hamburg to be used for maintenance of the church building or property.

Jean and Mark Seaman Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to St. Michael's Church in Hamburg.

The Richard J. Yashek Memorial Fund for Congregation Leadership
This fund provides grants to Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom to support programs that promote and enhance leadership in the congregation.

Zimmerman Family Fund
This fund supports St. John's United Church of Christ in Kutztown and Zion United Church of Christ in Maxatawny.

This fund was established by bequest to support the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center.

The John Gurski Fund
This fund was established to support the Berks Branch Office of the Alzheimer's Association.

The Berks County Tennis Fund
The Berks County Tennis Fund is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and adults in Berks County through the sport of tennis. Grants from the fund support programs that introduce tennis as a way for children to develop self-discipline, patience, self-confidence and critical thinking skills.

A-Field of Dreams
This fund was established to offset costs of construction of a concession stand and permanent improvements to athletic fields in the Antietam School District. Many contributions were received this year in memory of Paul Murin, an Antietam student who had supported the field improvements.

Jan Millard Memorial Fund
This fund makes grants to support boys high-school cross-country programs in Berks County.

This fund was established to provide funding for the Berks County Intermediate Unit to help reduce costs for school districts in the county. BERCS stands for Berks Enterprise for Regional Comprehensive Services.

The Bridge Fund
The Bridge Fund provides money to meet critical needs of juveniles or those responsible for their care and who are under the jurisdiction of Berks County judges who handle youth or domestic issues.

This fund make an annual grant to Junior Achievement of Berks County, Inc.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Reading - Berks County
This fund makes an annual distribution to the Kiwanis Club of Greater Reading - Berks County to carry out that organization's charitable mission of changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

The Camella Maggs Client Memorial Fund
In honor of their clients, Lyn Camella and Mark Maggs established this fund to make grants that help Berks County children with physical or learning disabilities discover their strengths and reach their full potential with dignity.

Richard D. & Linda Reed McCrae Clothing Fund
This fund buys clothing, accessories and other items that promote good grooming for financially needy students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades at Muhlenberg Middle School.

The Leonard I & Anna M. Miller Fund
This fund makes an annual grant to Junior Achievement of Berks County to support "The Company Program" at Muhlenberg and Oley Valley high schools.

The Royals Charities Fund

These scholarships support high school seniors who are Berks County residents who achieved high scholastic and personal development, demonstrated leadership skills, and plan to continue their education after high school at a four-year college or university.   Strong preference will be given to applicants who are children, stepchildren, grandchildren, or step grandchildren of former or current Arrow International employees who were employed by Arrow International as of the date of the sale of Arrow International to Teleflex, October 1, 2007. The Battle of the Badges Scholarship Fund
This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st.
This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are children of active police officers or fire fighters serving the City of Reading, or who are the children of retired or deceased police officers of firefighters who served the City of Reading. Students must plan to continue their education after high-school in a vocational - technical program or at a two-or four-year college, university or trade school. This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st.
This scholarship was established for graduating seniors from high schools that contract with or employ an athletic trainer. To qualify, students must have participated in training for at least one sport for a period of at least two years during high school and intend to pursue a four-year degree in Sports Medicine at an accredited college or university. This fund is named in memory of Cortney A. Kelly, a 2004 Antietam High School graduate who perished in an automobile accident in 2007. This fund makes scholarships for 7th and 8th grade female students in the Boyertown Area School District who show an aptitude for and an interest in science, with a particular emphasis on veterinary science. This fund provides two scholarships each year: one for a Hamburg High School senior who is pursuing a two-or-four year registered nurse program, and one for a Hamburg High School senior who is pursuing a degree in business administration. The Helen Monkiewicz Kubacki Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established for seniors from Mount Carmel High School in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania and who are pursuing a two-year, four-year or hospital RN program after graduation. Muhlenberg

The Tim Braun Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established for Muhlenberg High School seniors who participated on the Muhlenberg High School softball team. Contact: Muhlenberg High School

Diana M. Everson Memorial Scholarship Fund
This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st.

The Lombardo Family Scholarship
This scholarship was established for Muhlenberg High School seniors who participated in varsity sports, who had a commitment to academics shown by a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75, and are pursuing a degree. Contact: Muhlenberg High School

Oley Valley Community Education Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship was established for residents of the Oley Valley School District who will pursue educational opportunities beyond high school and demonstrate energy and commitment to some purpose beyond self-interest. Contact: Oley Valley High School

The Wayne R. Weidner Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established by National Penn Bancshares in honor of Wayne R. Weidner's retirement in December 2007. Scholarships are awarded to Oley Valley High School seniors selected by the high school principal who are pursuing post-secondary education at a two or four year college, university or trade school. Parkland (Lehigh County)

The Annie B. Fritch Scholarship Fund
This fund was established by bequest by Annie B. Fritch, who taught in the elementary grades at Parkland for 43 years. Mrs. Fritch was the first teacher in the district to use Phoentics. This scholarship honors the memory of Edith Dohner, who passed away at age 99 in 2007 after a lifetime of service to her church as a Sunday School teacher and to her family's business, Dohner Memorials. Third Ward Democratic Scholarship Fund in Memory of Kenneth C. Mock

The Charles Hottenstine Memorial Award Fund
This award is for a Schuylkill Valley High School senior who has exhibited superior achievement and contributions in at least two varsity sports during his or her junior or senior year, with major consideration to be given to the student's character, teamwork and leadership. The student must have maintained a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.20 for his or her junior and senior years. Contact: Schuylkill Valley High School

The Douglas S. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in memory of Douglas Miller for a Schuylkill Valley High School senior who will pursue a four-year degree in engineering or science. The student must be in the top 10% of the graduating class and must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities during high school. Contact: Schuylkill Valley High School.

The Samuel Brooklyn Reed Memorial Scholarship Fund
This fund provides scholarships for Schuylkill Valley High School seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA who will go on to a four-year college or university to study anthropology, archeology, or history, or who have an interest in distance running. Contact: Schuylkill Valley High School

The Gudrun R. Wilson Schuylkill Valley Middle School Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established to provide scholarships to Schuylkill Valley High School students who fit into one of the following categories:
1. Students who are pursuing a degree in the field of education
2. Students who once were or are identified as learning support or learning disabled and are pursuing a degree in any field
3. Students who have overcome adversity in their lives and are pursuing a degree in any field.

Joyce Boutros Memorial Award Fund
This fund was established to provide awards to Wilson High School graduates who demonstrate adherence to the seven character traits of "Wilson Pride." The annual award is divided evenly between a student who attended Whitfield Childcare Center and a student who was enrolled in the elementary gifted program of Wilson School District. Stephen Copeland Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established for graduates of Wilson High School who demonstrate an involvement in school and community activities, are active in sports and plan to continue their education.
