The Ralph H. and Florence Moyer Fund Application
This fund was established at Berks County Community Foundation in 2008 through the Estate of Ralph H. Moyer.
The purpose of the fund is to provide apprenticeship awards or vocational training to
Berks County youth who have demonstrated a financial need and potential, although such potential need not to be demonstrated solely from test scores or academic performance.
Applicants must be Berks County residents who are at least 18 years of age, but no older than 30 years of age, at time of application. Applicants must have completed one of the United Community Services (UCS) Pre-Apprenticeship programs and must have applied for and been accepted into a federally registered Union Building and Construction Trades Apprenticeship Program or a post secondary Vocational Program. Questions regarding applicant eligibility or regarding the pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or vocational programs should contact United Community Services for Working Families at 610-374-3319.
The maximum award available to one individual is $1,000. Awards are to be used to pay for tools, boots, supplies, tuition, initiation fees, or other requirements needed to participate in the program. Applications will be reviewed as received.
To be considered for this award, complete and submit the following form electronically at any time.
In addition to submitting the form below electronically, mail in the following attachments within one week of submitting your application. All itmes must be received prior to your on-line application being considered.
- A copy of your Apprenticeship Program or Vocational Program acceptance letter.
- A copy of the accompanying costs to participate in the program.
- A copy of your most recent high school transcript.
