The Arrow International Scholarship Fund

In December 2008, the Arrow International, Inc., Scholarship Trust was transferred from Wachovia Bank to Berks County Community Foundation to establish the Arrow International Scholarship Fund of Berks County Community Foundation.

These scholarships support high school seniors who are Berks County residents who achieved high scholastic and personal development, demonstrated leadership skills, and plan to continue their education after high school at a four-year college or university.   Strong preference will be given to applicants who are children, stepchildren, grandchildren, or step grandchildren of former or current Arrow International employees who were employed by Arrow International as of the date of the sale of Arrow International to Teleflex, October 1, 2007.

In addition, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, or step grandchildren of former or current Arrow employees who were employed by Arrow as of the date of the sale of Arrow to Teleflex, October 1, 2007, and who are Berks County residents, and who graduated from high school in 2008 or 2009, and who are enrolled as full-time students at a four-year college or university, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The 2008 graduates may apply through April 1, 2011. The 2009 graduates may apply through April 1, 2012. Applicants may only receive one scholarship in that time period.

In order to apply, applicants must have obtained an unweighted high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.  The ideal recipients will have participated in high school and community activities and demonstrated some leadership roles.
