Youth Advisory Committee Program Grant Application
Each year the Youth Advisory Committee of Berks County Community Foundation awards grants to local agencies dealing with youth-related issues. The YAC members study community issues and select an area of concern that they believe is of high importance to youth in our community at that time.
The 2011-2012 YAC Grant Theme: Stomp It Out!
This year YAC members are passionate about joining the effort in preventing and reducing bullying among youth in Berks County. YAC is seeking grant applications from nonprofit organizations dedicated to stomping out the cycle of abuse. Specifically, this includes both existing and yet-to-be-programs associated with bullying, preventing suicide and depression, and raising self - esteem and self - awareness.
Programs that match YAC's focus might address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Peer Mentoring
- Youth Counseling
- Raising Awareness
- Education on effective solutions on how to respond to bullying
YAC has $15,000 available for programs that meet these objectives.
Application Deadline: January 13, 2012 (Decisions made by April 13, 2012; Funds made available after May 15, 2012).

- Additonal Requirement Documents (listed below)
- Site visit with members of the Youth Advisory Committee, which must be completed by March 19, 2012. Applications will not be considered without a site visit
Please note the following eligibility requirements:
Tax-exempt or public benefit organizations, individuals, associations and private or public agencies are eligible to apply. The grant must be used for charitable purposes only. Organizations are eligible to apply to more than one grant program in the same year.
Additional Required Documents: Please mail the following additional information to the Youth Advisory Committee, (c/o Berks County Community Foundation, 237 Court Street, Reading, PA 19601) for receipt before the deadline:
- A copy of your IRS determination letter, if applicable
- A copy of your organization's most recent annual report, if available
- A copy of your organization's current operating budget
- No more than two examples of recent articles or other materials that describe your organization's work, if available
