Jim and Ruth B. Daley Fund Application
The purpose of the fund is to support Berks County residents furthering their education at an undergraduate or graduate school. The main distribution from the fund will be primarily for living expenses, professional testing fees, books, childcare, transportation, uniforms and other emergency needs. Preference is given for the payment of emergency and living expenses. Payment will not be made for tuition.

Preference will be given to students attending Berks County institutions, with a secondary preference expressed for students attending schools at Pennsylvania institutions located outside of Berks County. Priority will be given based on financial need. Special preference will be given to students studying Electrical Engineering.

This award is not eligible to high school seniors. Eligible individuals must have successfully completed at least one semester or term at an institution of higher education.

To be considered for this scholarship, complete and submit the form below electronically by April 1. In addition to submitting the form below electronically by April 1, you must mail in the following attachments postmarked no later than April 1. Your name must appear on all attachments:

  • A photocopy of your most recent transcript from the college/university/trade school you are attending.
  • A letter of recommendation from an individual who can provide information in regard to your financial need. This letter should be from a teacher, school official, clergy, employer, advisor, community leader or other person who knows you well.

Note: Berks County Community Foundation employees, board members and/or committee members are not eligible to apply or be nominated for a grant or scholarship, nor are their immediate family members. Immediate families include spouses, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and stepgrandchildren. The ineligibility period for Berks County Community Foundation board members or employees extends five years after board service or employment terminates. The ineligibility period for committee members who are not Berks County Community Foundation board members or employees is in effect only during their term of service.
