| Berks County Community Foundation's Headquarters and Community Conference Center One Building: Three Unique Spaces The Community Foundation’s headquarters building will house three main areas: A Community Conference Center The building’s first floor will house a state-of-the-art community conference center which will consist of reception space in the main lobby, a flexible meeting room for up to 75 people, a 30-seat board room and what we call our “Fireside Room,” which will be a comfortable space for speakers to prepare or for potential candidates to interview for key nonprofit leadership roles, such as when a college is conducting a search for a new president. A catering kitchen will also be available. The facility will be available at no (or very low) cost to community groups and boards. Its configuration and equipment will allow meetings to be held using advanced presentation and telecommunications technology typically found in for-profit settings. The space will be the kind of asset that very few community groups can afford individually, but that the Community Foundation can provide for collective use. Because the space is designed to be highly flexible, it will accommodate a range of uses -- from committee meetings to receptions to lectures.
The Community Foundation Office Suite The Community Foundation’s offices will be located on the second floor and will consist of a mixture of open and private offices, small meeting rooms and incubator space for new public-benefit organizations and community projects. Tenant and Expansion Space The third floor and a small area in what we refer to as “the garden level,” will be available as tenant or future expansion space.
